Hi,

My insurer ( Esure ) sent my renewal today which I am quite happy with but just thought I would get a few more quotes. I have been told that I cant get insured due to my 110 having 11 seats, I have also been advised to remove the seats completely ?? 2 companies I rang after seeing an advert in the LRM magazine also told me the same. My current insurer never asked how many seats my 110 had when i initially took their insurance last year, but I am concerned that somewhere in the small print this will be stated and my insurance invalid ! I thought to ring them and check or keep quiet about it ?

????????

I think where insurance is concerned never keep quiet about anything. It'll only cause you probs down the road should you ever need to claim.

I had to take my bench seats out too. Shame.

Thats actually a good question, Adrian Flux (who btw dont honor no claims racked up as an additional driver) doesnt think the front center seat is a seat, I think it is a seat my my "6 seater" is actually a 7 seater,

If they dont mention it, I wouldnt correct them, But read your T&C's and policy, might clear a few things up

some insurers wont touch anything with more than 7 seats, some they have to be forward facing.
Mines insured as a 9 seat (most I can drive) it only actually has 8, but i might need to stick the centre one back in at some point.

Yep, I had the same problem. I went via AF in the end after tearing my hair out over A bars and roof racks and originally it being a 9 seater.
I was going to take the back seats out myself anyway, Nene did offer when I brought it but then I would not have the option of putting them back as I don't think they meant take out and give me.
The removal of seats and belt bar was a 'hole' (sic) other story.
What ever you do think very carefully about any limited mileage quotes. I'm now waiting to remove that as it kept the price low but has been a pain.

There'll be a clause that says anything that's incorrect, it's your problem and they'll use that when paying out. If there's anything wrong, they'll refuse to pay out. It's not worth hiding stuff, as you're essentially throwing money away otherwise.
