heeelllppp. im trying to find the "book" price for my 110 hardtop 1997... to argue with the insurance company...insurance sez its tradeplus retail divide by 2...ok...so accordin to glasses website they dont hold prices for my 110..... anybody here help me out?

I did this with my insurance its takes ages!!!! Basically my advice would be except the money they give and then you argue for the extra on top. Basically don't use glass or parkers go on autotrader and find loads of trucks like yours (Age, Mileage, Spec) then find the most expensive ones (not private). Make a small portfolio of trucks you could buy as replacement. A recent photo of your trucjk showing spec and condition will help (be careful not to show performance mods that would effect your insurance). Plus copies of receipts for recent work and if you could get a testiment from your local garage of the condition of your land rover being above average that willl help. I did all of that and got 1500 extra for 300tdi 90 which was stolen but I took them 12 months to decide.

the insurance assesor valued mine at £900 with all the mods fitted. I told him that I was gonna take em off. He then tried to tell me that I couldn't take my mods off as it would effect the settlementprice. I started laughing at him. When he asked what was so funny I told him that as there were £2k's worth of extras on and in my landy did it mean that I'd have to give them £1200 to write it off if I took em off.:p:p:p

It took 12 weeks of argueing to get my money out of em, but I removed and kept all my extras and then got £3500.

I had the option to pay £800 salvage to be able to keep it but decided against that. I took the money.:)
 
.. latest from insurance..... is theyll give me £4000 for my 110 hardtop 1997,but i have to buy it back at one quarter the value as salvage....i am dealing wiv the "at fault insurers".. an they are payin £85 per day for my hire car( a crappy freelander 2 auto, 2 mths old wiv crem carpets...wow)...maybe i should hold out an argue that they give me mine back for 500 quid.. what do you think?
