My 93 110 has a pretty rough chassis, not beyond saving but bulkhead outriggers need replacing, chassis rotted behind them also, various holes along the rails etc etc.
Have come across a galvanised chassis, new, never fitted for £500 from a friend of a friend, my dilemma is do I throw money patching up the old one or buy the new one and fit that, only worry is what I find when stripping the vehicle down and the extra costs I could incurr, anyone fitted one?? Any advice would be much appreciated or any experiences from anyone having completed this job, don't have an endless pot of money or would just go ahead and do it.
Also same guy has a good bulkhead, mine is a little rotten, not noticeable on the outside, just noticed it when I had the engine out last on the inside near the gearbox.
Only other question is identity, if I change these parts do I need to do anything or tell anyone as obviously there will be no vin on the new chassis, not that I can find one on mine anyway haha.

Cheers guys

if you have access to some form of lifting gear ,removing body in a complete lump including wings etc ,makes the job easier and cheaper

Been to look at the chassis, alls good, starting the project next Wednesday and hope to complete in 3 days, had a good look at my bulkhead and think I'm going to do that too, got another one in perfect condition but would love it galvanised, can't find a company locally that do it unless anyone out there lives in Doncaster and knows someone?
Not even sure how much it would cost to do so might just have to protect it as much as I can and fit it.
Will be taking plenty of pics of the strip down and rebuild also

Make sure you turn this into a build thread with loads of pics.

There are plenty of galvanizing companies about, I had a qoute for galvanizing a classic chassis with sand blasting was about £300, would guess a bulkhead would be cheaper, can't remember the site but got a map of all the galvanizing places in the uk, there were a few your way. Sit on Google for a bit I am sure you will find something.

typing in galvanising doncaster into google throws up a few places, give them a bell and see what they say

Thanks mate, just been having a look, will give em a ring.

Yes there will be plenty of pics as I never plan on doing this again, well on this one anyway haha, will put it in a build thread for everyone to see

have a search, some say bulkheads can warp if the galv people dip cool it after iirc. it might need a brace

Seam seal all the joints and areas where your old one has rusted then use plenty of coats of good quality paint, should never need to replace it again. I am contemplating coating my wheel arches in load liner to prolong life.

Got it booked in, mint bulkhead, primed painted and treated in vulnerable areas, £350 so happy enough with that, strip down starts next Wednesday : )
