110 Fuel Tank - where does this bit go??

Return is defo on the top. Runs fine blanked off.

I've bought a second hand tank for my 110 300tdi the fuel return option on the top isn't an option as the hole for the flange return pipe isn't there. Take it I can just use the efi return inside on the side of the tank ?
