Shows a V8 R380 (from a NAS spec 90 in this case), in the foreground you can see the mount attached to the box, the round rubber doodah, and then the three-footed bracket that bolts to the chassis (ANR2820). The other side mounts off the LT230 as per 200Tdi does, using bracket ANR4657 and plate ANR2819 with the rubber mount in between.

Or so the diagrams would have one believe.
That's what I think I need.

Then put the upswept tubular cross member in front. The upswept tubular cross member is to provide the space either side for the exhaust

v8 sits were 300tdi does, 200 further back,300 crossmember will fit v8 or 300 as box fits in the same position ,just personal choice
 
Forgot about that... All marsland chassis are td5 spec aren't they...

I can see how that nas spec mount works, Which is good, but I've no clue about that set up I'm afraid. 300tdi xmember seems the far easier idea.
 
300Tdi mounts are also (reportedly) softer, so could be better for vibrations etc. - though not so much of an issue with a V8! I'm actually fitting a Mazda 4-cyl lump that fits the same as a V8, hence the question. So could be a benefit to me. And 300Tdi crossmembers/mounts are plentiful and cheap compared to the direct-to-chassis V8 setup.

Not sure what is going on with Mike's chassis though, that bracket seems to prevent fitment of the 'sloping' 300Tdi crossmember. All the photos of new chassis I can find have the bracket a different shape to allow the fitment of the crossmember, so perhaps it is indeed incorrect.

Props are standard 300tdi. From the online part manual. Ordered then from lrdirect as I wanted the option of hardy Spicer, which I think are oem.

I'm pretty annoyed today. What should have been a very visually impressive day (fitting the front bulkhead) had revealed what I think is a Richards chassis issue:

Spot the lower left hand bolt sticking out. It's about 5 to 10mm from lining up in the horizontal plane. Cue a very annoyed Adam. The bulkhead is my original from the 300tdi, so should be correct.

Has anyone had this? I know @aaronmorris has used a few Richards chassis... Possibly @GATSO too?

Could you take the bulkhead back off and measure the distance between the two mounting feet?
I have the measurement written down somewhere and it is possible that it isn't the chassis and could be the bulkhead has warped during the galvanising process or welding. Or it could just be the chassis, and I've heard one or two story's similar of late.
 
If you could find that measurement Aaron, that'd be great. When it's not ****ing down outside I'll measure some more stuff on the original chassis too.
 
My bulkhead feet measured 1497mm centre to centre, which fitted on the chassis (both new and old) lovely, with just a slight tap of the bolt.
Hope that helps and I would have a measure of yours and the chassis also.
 
I measured mine the other week, along with Aaron and somebody else and I think me and Aaron were 20mm different. Mine also went in with a slight tap.
