Would it be legal to fit bench or side-facing seats in the back of a 110 CSW?
At present the top of the wheel-arches is plywood (!), presumably using the original fixing holes; and just to complicate matters, the outer middle seats are high-backed (so, presumably, 3-person benches won't fit?). I have no idea what was fitted when the vehicle was new. It is currently registered (and taxed/insured) as a 5-seater.
As a 1993 model, would it have had bench seats when new? Would lap belts have been provided? (If not, would there have been mounting points for lap belts?)
Last year I fitted a 3-point inertia belt (from Exmoor Trim, I think) for the middle middle seat, and that works adequately with a high-backed child's seat (although it's a bit awkward to use). This holiday we need to transport an extra teenager - hence the need for additional seats.
