sounds like something the numpty who fitted the engine would have said

name and shame this "mechanic" coz

Jumk the Intake get a Rangie or disco or even a defender airbox or if you can afford it a k and n rated for a 2.5l/3l turbo engine. A pug is only gonna be 2ltr at best and probably not a turbo either and might not be capable of filtering the volume of air you require Landy filters are large fir a reason!

what's wrong with using the orginal TD filter box leaving it in it's orginal location - pipework comes from these peeps

eBay My World - autoperformanceonline

really would like to see what he's done with the exhaust :)

I assumed the "mechanic" wouldn't have used the original filter housing for a reason guess he is just a kunt and if you could fit the original back in.

I used a K and N race filter from a mahussive engine sealed in a mushroom top. I want to get a inline jobbie K and N want 120 quid for an ali one for my snorkel but the bank man he say No! So i will make a 100% dunk proof unit that i can take apart to clean the filters when I get time. Jai

i cant name n shame him, lets say he's a friend of a friend and he's got nowt to do with the loony zone
i still have the td filter box with a k and n in it,so i could just make some sort of frame up and use this then.
didn't somebody on here ask questions about using a td filter setup on a tdi???
i bought the downpipe kit for the exhaust,it had the pipes for the turbo in it aswell i was wondering why fookwit had a pipe left over when hed finished

Just catching up...

typical costs to supply and fit a 200TDi is between £1500-£2000.
Think you should get a decent job done by a respectable indy for a bit less than that, mine was just over a grand with a new 110 HD clutch but a heath-robinson KnN air intake.

Get an inline one from Ebay (i started a fred oin this a couple of weeks ago having got one) thanks to Si n Ratty! - it's basically a KnN in a waterproof pot with plenty of piping, and looks the perfect solution.
