This morning, my clutch slave cylinder mounting bracket broke whilst I was using the clutch pedal.

I have repaired the bracket, but now have a query:

Can the pushrod on the slave cylinder be compressed to allow me to fit it onto the clutch actuating arm.

Its currently at its full extent of travel and will not depress.

Any ideas to get me mobile for the morning??

Regards

Steve

If it's pre 2001 it's a sealed system, after that I am not sure, pre 2001 you should be able to push piston back but if you have lost any fluid you might need a new unit @ around 44 quid (dealer price).

Thanks very much guys...

I went out 2 hours ago, removed the reservoir cap and pushed the rod back. Its all back together and drivable again.

Just covered 20 miles and all seems well. I repaired the bracket using a trailer socket bracket. I'll get a new one ordered tomorrow. :)

Thanks again.
