06 model yr TD6 Vogue hot?

I have just got my firts Rang Rover! a 50k 55 plate (06) model TD6 vogue.
Noticed today that the temp guage is slightly over midpoint on the guage. What could be causing this? is it common? is this going to be my first hefty repair bill?

first thing look at top hose make sure it not getting hard

take it back to where ya got it from and get them to sort it if theres a problem, i take you got it from a garage and not a private seller?
