03 disco td5 no starter

hi all

03 td5 went out toit today turn key nothing

put booster pack on thinking battery nope

red light goes off once ignitions on
can her yellow relay clicking under dash when turn key
can here a box clicking passenger side with ignition on off which is immobiliser yes??

not even a solonoid click nothing

being fat i cant even see the sodding starter or wires under the drivers side, can i access the cranking live from up top and live it with a power probe? id like to find the wire i presume it comes up that way to the fusebox?

cant find any blown fuses either, im also aware it was sodding ****ing down and they are prone to water getting onto fuse box etc

can anyone offer any advice please or tell me the cranking ive to the starter colour and location

Check the small lucar connector on the starter solenoid... it used to get loose, check fusible link FL12 and swap relays R2(starter) with R3(headlamp was) for test..

have swapped relays already as was on google when wasnt startng lol, hard to even see the starter let alone the wires

You can approach the starter from above on the right side reaching beneath the engine's rear with a bit of contorsionism, C0179 used to get loose


if this is ruled out you can give direct feed easily to the brown/red wire pin 2 of 0571 to make sure that the solenoid works...make sure it's in neutral if you try this

Not so daft, I often use a small step up, and an old packing blanket over the wing to help prevent scratches.

well lived up the wire nothing, god knows how got my hand down there not at back tho no room, found the connector it was on wiggled it a bit then turned key started shame i cant get to it easily id like to get some carb cleaner in there but its now alive

If you can get the car on ramps, it is easy to get to the starter from underneath.
