Hi all,
Apologies, only joined yesterday and only bought it Tuesday but I have a question already:
How stiff/difficult should it be to select the low gears? When it's cold it's nye on impossible to move the lever and after a 20 minute drive, so once the oil's up to temp, I'd say it selects 1 out of every 4/5 attempts.
Looking through the history, over the past 2 or 3 years it appears to have been a motorway mile muncher doing 15-20k a year, so perhaps it's rarely been used off road and low gears rarely selected?
I'm going to book it in for an oil change and general overview.... would I be right in thinking changing the transfer box oil will ease selection? Is there any other point of lubrication that may help or is it just a case of the more it's used the easier it will become?
This beasty will be frequently used as the designers intended so any help getting this issue sorted will be gratefully received
