Not sure about 'common' issues for it. @holidaychicken played with his V8 quite a bit, so may be able to advise. But diagnostics and L322 go hand in hand. Possibles could be bad coils , cylinders switched off ( hence the how long have they ignored it for) , mass air meter and I think but not sure that hoses can also be an issue.
Best to get diagnostics and get the codes.

Decided not to take the risk on that particular L322 but bought another one. It’s a 52 plate 4.4 v8 Vogue. Mot’d for a year and seems in good order mechanically, only issue to note is the bloody stereo in it.... it’s the sat nav head unit with dsp. Screen switches on and off on occasions and menu options switch from white to black at times too, plus any time I play radio or cd in it the music only plays for a few mins before cutting off. I can switch it off and back on and boom I have music again then same happens....

Do you have any experience of this?
