Hi all,

I'm new to landy's , so just after a bit of advice...

We've just sold the mrs' beemer as it just wasnt practical anymore,

We quite fancy a freelander td4 on around an 02/03 plate.

Going to look at one today on an 02 with 89k on the clock, full history, 3 owners...loads of toys, leather pdc etc

Can anyone tell me anything I should be looking out for?

Many thanks

Karl

There are loads of posts on this subject so have a good search and adhere to the advice.

We have an 02 plate TD4 and it has been great. Only breakdowns were windscreen wiper linkage (30 minute job) and fuel pump failure (more expensive). Now approaching 110,ooo miles.

Cheers

'02 auto., 92k

In 4-5yrs.

Power steering pump - £70 LR part ebay
Starter motor - £130 new
Gearbox trouble - £800
2 x windows motors £50-110 each

Current issue crank pulley clatter - £150 so far.....

Get around 20-25k front tyres.

MPG 26-34

Rest usual maintenance. Expect usual age related issues on what is close to 10yr old car.

Check receipts and see what's been done.

Just bought a 2005 TD4 auto freelander with 105k miles. Fitted new rear drums and shoes, EGR bypass, crankcase filter, intercooler hoses, front discs and calipers and the usual oil and filters, hope that's it for a while.
