£2000 Land Rover

Hi Can i buy a half decent LR for approx £2000? Not really sure of best route to take model wise so any help would be good Thanx

Yes you can buy one for 2k but you'll have to check it over very carefully. you wont get a mint one for that money

I paid £1500 for my 1985 90 and it was a shed, other half still thinks it is! bet iv spent that again putting right! lol

you will get a nice amount of work and tin worm ready to create mot failures

I bought a 97 disco auto.... Jap re-import (less rust than a UK car) with 85,000 on it (now)
I replaced the alternator belt tensioner,front pads, had the an "a" post, rear body mounts and rear cross member welded with repair panels from YRM.
replaced the springs and shocks and a full set of mud tyres (insa turbo saharas)
And serviced it.
I reckon it stands me at about £2000 now.
So yes if you want a disco and if your prepared to put some work in.

my disco 200tdi was 1200 about 5 years ago.... its had a few bits replaced and usually needs a bit of welding for the mot but its not out the way compared to a similar value transit sized van which is what i ran before.
