2 tonne rated lifting strops. These give a breaking strain of 14tonnes.

or a 10tonne rope. Don't buy a kinetic recovery rope (KERR)

a 110 csw weighs in at about 2 tonnes i believe, so for recovery work you want to at least double it and go for lifting tackle as it has a safety factor of 7:1 so a 1 tonne lifting strop has a breaking strain of 7 tonnes, this is assuming the strop is new and un-damaged personally i like strops as the are easier to store

Good gear is rated for lifting a dead weight (entire mass of vehicle) Most recoveries are done with vehicle being able to move on wheels so safety factor is actuall/usually magnified

It took about 40 mins to get this far:D

hey ned go for strops or slings mate. Get a few different types of shackle as well.

KInetic ropes are very good but dangerous if not used properly. If you want more info on them let me know but tbh you are most like to pull your towing eye off and take someones windscreem out with it.

If you still have your standard LR tow points make a bridle with a tree strop and two shackles then use a sling or something similar. This gives even pull on your vehicle. Like everyone is saying the strops are 6:1 safety factored so don't worry too much (this is provided they are proper lifting tackle and come with a certificate).

Don't underestimate chains either particularly grab hooks which can be lengthened to suit all applications.

When getting slings work with 2000kgs this will be fine. Same with shackles but get some smaller one to use if the eyes are smaller. Anymore info let me know.

Landrovers don't have tow points they have lashing eyes. You must fix proper tow points. Method above could lead to serious injury
