STP is there to stop cam goring on initial start up until it gets oil feed. You don't need a lot just coat cam lobes with it then tappets and drop them in. You can do that with a small clean brush. You can then just put some engine oil over visable cam. As i said in other answer any you have left stick in with new oil, it's good stuff and will help your engine.
