blimey guys its just an old car whats going on? its totally genuine if anyones local there more than welcome to view

as for the price yes i know its dear but fook it its ebay you never know what happens i have nothing to loose it owes me nothing it can sit at the workshop for few weeks im not fussed

its registered build date 1972 hence the historical tax disc,

just because there is a few negs from years ago i dont understand why everyone is jumping down my throat, when i got this landy i knew nothing about them and after all your advice and this site now i do, surely thats what its here for?

i dont get it i really dont, ive hidden nothing i said i got the car for free, but how about putting it this way i had to turn the key on my recovery truck and drive a bit to pick it up thats my services for starters, i basicly spent a day cleaning and sorting the thing out to run spot on surely that entitles me to a profit? ok prob not gonna get no were near £650 but wtf is the harm trying? i put it up at 450 and was told too cheap on here.

seriosuly guys why am i getting hounded? its a ****ing 37 year old car of course its a little grotty, what i said in the advert is the chassis good, and it is why the **** would i say its good if all someone was going to do is come out and spot it

i spend most of my life buying and repairing salvage cars, i also do diagnostics code reding, recovery etc yes i am trade but i never meant for it to be an advert on here i was asking for advice, it was allways going to go on ebay.

any other questions?

Tax exemption is based on registration date not build date as you were told on here. But you still advertised it as tax exempt. That's fraud and grounds to pull out of the sale if they want to.

Im sure if ya just explain yerself folks will make their own minds up...it does look nice but you should know when u wander into a landy forum and want to sell we look at your feedback...its an issue...as i said u may well be genuine, but we do get a good deal of spamming. I for one am not shy at taking a punt on it unseen, im a trader too btw, but im also 100% positive feedback PLUS people sort of know me here after 2 years and a 1000+ posts....so, if you change it to an auction i'll have another look...otherwise good luck!

Any car built (as opposed to registered) prior to Jan 1 1973 qualifies to be a Historic car in the eyes of DVLA, and as such qualifies for zero rated road tax. Originally the cutoff was meant to be a rolling 25 years, but the current Labour government quashed this, setting the cutoff for Historic status as 01/01/73. You do still need to display a tax disc however, really just to prove that when you applied for the disc you had current insurance and MOT, but you will not have to hand over a single penny. This legislation can have some bearing on values of identical cars that were built either side of the '73 cutoff - buy a January 1973 build Triumph TR6 and you'll have to pay up even though the car comes out on sunny days only, whereas your neighbour with his/her '72 TR6 is in the fortunate position of paying £nothing, which, if totted up over a few years, can add up to a significant sum!

from the heritage motor centre

Cars built before 1 January 1973 are eligible for 'historic vehicle class' and therefore exempt for paying road tax in the UK. If your car comes into this category then our Heritage Certificate service (£35) or Dating Letter (£19) will provide the proof you need to claim your tax exempt road disc from the DVLA.

oh see no i wasnt trying to be sarcastic, its jus thats his words were somewhat accusing so i had to point out the facts, the car IS tax exempt

After reading all the posts and laughing several times at you guys , I thought I had to reply .
Yeah it looks like a straight motor but without more pics ( Chassis a defo , and inside ) then people will shy away from it as its still mainly an unknown . Hell even do a vid stating bits and bobs like a virtul walk around .... there is a guy on the bay that does this selling landys and it Really helps and they sell every time .
so a quick check list
1 , pics of inside
2 , pics of the chassis ie rear crossmember , main rails , outriggers ( you get the idear ) .
3 , Bulkhead condition ( around door hinges , flaps , bottom of bulkhead by the floor , peddle area .
4 , condition or the doors
5 , good pic of the engine bay .
6 , lower your reserve

It doesnt cost anymore putting up the max allowed pics ( free ) .
4 pics to sell a landy !! Id walk away thinking " yeah right "
