cherry bomb

ive had me side exit eggsauce for a while now on me 200 tdi and am dissappointed that it doesnt sound much different over standard,the rear box has been removed and the ctr remains,someones mentioned if i replace the ctr box with a cherry bomb silencer it should sound better,but ive never used theese b4.anyone else got one or know if there any good or am i wasting me time.

Cherry bombs , I remember them well from my youth . They sounded great but never tryed on on a diesel tho tbh .... but thinking of it , a bomb is straight through , you might get some turbo whistle from her .

200tdi spooling up with a cherry bomb will sound good, thats what i used to have only no centre box just a chrome cherry bomb tailpipe!

Isnt that illegal? Dont get me wrong, if i thought id get away with it id saw my rear silencer off this evening, but theyll tug you for it wont they?

If it'll pass an mot its legal. I did have a tailpipe just it was a cherry bomb. No law against taking your centre box out is there!
Like i said as long as it will pass an mot.

Yea i took my mid box of ages ago, but it wouldent have passed it mot without the tail silencer, needs one silencer to be legal. if a cherry bomb thingey counts as a silencer or the mot guy doesent care then its all good.

ive lost both boxes and have a straight through cherry where the middle one was. the exhaust exits behind the passenger door.

I recently got mine done properly in SS by infinity exhausts in Bristol. the kept the cherry bomb and custom'd the rest. all neat and tidy. passed the MOT last month, no questions asked.

sounds better when engine warm, can hear the turbo spooling up too

im sure the guy who custom made me eggsauce from salvaged parts could cut out ctr box and weld in the cherry bomb,sounds like it may be worth doin then especially if its gonna sound better

Might sound good and have a nice shiney rear bit, but it'll still be black smoke pouring out of it!

i take it an eggsauce is a type of custom exhaust??? The only egg sauce ive ever related to exhaust was the scrambeled eggs i cooked in tin foil on me manufolds.

mine dont smoke!

It fires out a black cloud on start up which it didnt do with 2 boxes. but once running it doesnt smoke at all.

ditto big puff of black smoke on start up and then nuthin even under load no smoke,,good 200 tdi,me old td smoked like buggery

Yea ive never caught my 200 smoking after about 3 minuits of running eather, i just assume it does. its one thing looking in the mirror and another following it.

Edit; My TD once filled epsom town center with millitery grade smoke screen when i was stuck in traffic and my injector pump was buggered, so it decided to pump loads of fuel in, meaning it went full RPM + extra fuel and i couldent turn it off. Many people were ****ed off.

It's a four cylinder diesel, it's not going to sound good no matter what exhaust you put on it. Don't be disappointed when you get your cherry bomb on and it sounds like a tractor. Unless you like the sound tractors make that is.

My Cousin has Cherry Bombs on his Series 3 with a SD1 3.5V8 in it...... That thing sounds amazing!
