mines been plugged in, injection start control, fault code 144
thanks for offer mate which the pipes that are conncted to th egr valve. i dont see how changing plugs can cause this if all was ok before we started.it would not be because i have 3 different brands of glow plugs in would it ?

Could you have caught any of the other rubber pipes whilst working on the engine? They become brittle with age. Slight knock and they're leaking.

so where do i need to look? thanks p.s, you do realise its an l-series

The code is a standard obd2 code so it doesn't matter what the engine is. As for where to start looking I don't have a clue to be honest with you. I just looked it up in my magic booklet. I will see what I can find out for you. I just thought that if people knew what code 144 is they might be able to help you further.

cheers, the only thing was that the diagnostics said that 144 was "injection start control"????

but there's only a wire to number 1 cylinder???

strange????

The misfire and loss of power only comes on at speeds of 45-50mph?

These are only guesses but....

Firstly check your earth straps to your engine are clean and secure. If need be try fitting an additional one. Then take your vehicle on a test drive. Working glow plugs may be putting additional strain on your engines current wiring.

If that doesn't work.....

Find out what revs your engine is doing at 45-50mph. (you may have to drive it while watching the guage)

While stationary attatch a multimeter to your battery. Start your engine and get somebody to hold the revs so they are the same as you would have doing the above speeds.

Does the voltage go above 15v? Does the misfire/ warning light still come on? I am just wondering if the voltage is getting too high and spiking the ecu.

Just looked at my code listings.. and its the same as wattys..

02 sensor circuit high voltage (bank 1 sensor 3)

So.... What is sensor 3 ??

just got back from lpndon light flashed on for about 2sec on way there that was it but at 60 70 there was suddden jerk about -4times but that was it

 are we getting confused here?

what year is the car? it is probably obd not obd 2

02 sensor circuit is an obd 2 code isn't it and wouldn't apply to an l series diesel.
so the code is likely to be vehicle specific

mines been plugged in, injection start control, fault code 144
i should make it clear i don't know much about about on board diagnostics but from what i've read pre 2003 diesels were not required to be eobd compliant and as such can have their own fault code systems.

confirm with whoever gave you the definition of 'injection start control' if this is correct for your vehicle and then try to find what it relates to on your vehicle.
sound like it's a circuit relating to injection timing of some sort (camshaft/crankshaft sensor circuits or injectors themselves)

so would this make it jerk now and then is it one ofth sensors go down never had any think like this until i changed plugs

does this happen about a second before the light comes on like mine???? will be the management going into limp mode!

its not mine that just does it at that speed!! mine does it at any speed, as long as not accellerating or decelerating! i.e constant throttle!
