Nice 90 that , easy to see that you have single point LPG system from the engine bay shot.

If you want to reduce fuel consumption a bit more, get rid of the viscous fan (I could hear it in the background) and fit a leccy one instead.

You'll gain in power, economy and acceleration.
Engine driven fans sap power, use more fuel and because the engine has to overcome the inertia of the fan, pick up and acceleration are affected too.
I have twin Kenlowe electric fans on mine and they are part of the reason why I'm getting around 20mpg without really trying.
Reckon on 10 - 15% improvement in fuel economy, so 1 - 3 mpg.
But this is wholly dependant on how you drive it.:flame:

Not going out in mine til I get my clutch sorted.
Went on Salisbury Plain on a S*L*U*Ts trip last weekend and I think some muddy water has finished off the clutch thrust bearing.
Looks like an engine out job is looming.
Oh the joys of Land Rover ownership.

That's exactly what Dorset Vogue SE and I were wondering with his Disco 300Tdi when faced with a similar problem.
As it's an 'at home', on the driveway job with an engine hoist we managed to remove his engine, replace clutch and rear crankshaft seal and have it all back together in a day.
It does help though, when the two people doing the job are reading from the same page.
The thing is, it's a driveway job and the gearbox/transfer box are so heavy to lift down or refit when lying on your back.
If I had access to a four post lift I would probably remove the gearbox rather than the engine.

Despite needing a new clutch, I much prefer the new one.

Less rust, more mpg, more go, no rattles, no whiny transfer box, comfier, the list goes on.

I'm still glad I made the change - the clutch bit is annoying, but that is the risk you take when buying a second hand vehicle.

Time for a clearout of the garage on fleabag I think.

We had a frost, it was -2C when the wife and I got back home at 10ish last night.
Not used to this, think we only had 2 good hard frosts last winter.
