Disco 2 Wiring help needed please

Hi
Hoping someone can help me wire some replacement front door speakers in my 2001 Td5
To start with the new speakers have got a + and - symbol but the old (origional) speakers have nothing and both the spade connectors are the same size, the wires to the origional speakers are Black with a Red trace and Black with a Pink trace.
Also i would like to add 2 extra speakers to the front doors, there are cut-outs already in the door (front at the top) and the outline is in the doorcard plus the wire's are there but there is no power to them, any ideas how to sort this please.

Black wire is neg -
Depending on your vehicles spec D2s can have additional speaker in the front door card, the lower one is bass, the upper smaller one is mid range therefor there will be an amplifier installed to power all the loud speakers.
How did you test for output on the wires you found.? Also look for an amp.

Both wires have black as the main colour, black with red trace & black with pink trace ???.
I have no amp.
to test the spare wires i connected a new speaker

Ok I took it that the two conductors was black the other was colour for each speaker.
Below is a wiring diagram, so you will have to put a meter on check the carrier voltage etc.

Or with the speaker connected plus sound the speaker diaphragm should push, if it retracts the reverse the wiring.

Yes, make sure all of your speakers are polorised correctly, or it will sound sh1t. Technical word is "out of phase"

Your smaller ones in the door are high range "tweeters" Wont need an amp for those, they just run parallel off the speaker feeds according to the wiring diagram.

Thats what i thought about them running parrallel, problum is they dont, not sure where to look now unless i just splice some new wire in for the extra speakers

I don't think mine has tweeters in the door... Next time Im in there Ill take a look if the loom includes wiring to them...

The D2 wiring diagram I posted in #4 above shows the tweeter spliced into the front loudspeaker, also states “speaker high range A post” which is the position in the D1 when fitted so the same as other vehicles I've known.
Even when Ive fitted them my self

I can zoom up to the full screen size on my iPad and still clear, so strange you can’t enlarge on whatever device u have.

I can send you a link to the D2 electrical workshop manual, if you wish…
