As I said earlier (although the 8 speed) it will change, when doing manually it sort of takes it out of auto for a time.
When that times out it then goes back to auto mode, and could potentially just change down again.
We only notice it when towing, and without breaking the speed limit have to change it manually. It will then hold it and be fine but any slight extra load and it will drop a gear.

I was not offended by one word, I was offended by a whole series of attacks over several days by many people.

The point was that the belittling started from the very beginning from the very first word.

If that word had been the only thing that had been said in a patronizing way, then I would never have responded in the way that I did.

I didn't even notice the word at first, it was only when I looked back that I realized that the first word said was patronizing.

The one word itself was not offensive, it was the entire tone of multiple comments.

I don't care what most of you want me to do, why would I?

Why would I care about a bunch of people that have done nothing but attack me and ignore what I say (or even worse twist what I say into gotcha comments) when they have no actual knowledge of the situation, as proven by their ridiculous comments?

So I don't care what you want.

Which is why I will either do it or not, and if I do it I will not come here to tell anyone how it worked out, because I don't care about you.

And if I did come back here no matter what happened, I am sure that there would be multiple people telling me that I was lying or criticizing me by picking apart every single word that I said looking for gotcha moments.

But I keep up with the times which is why I have an OBD reader and why I came here to ask questions about my planned change.

Actually I'm laughing at all of you guys every day given how wound up you all are about somebody asking a simple question.

Just think about this, if no one commented to me with their gotcha questions I would've stopped posting here a long time ago.

All because I asked a simple question about making a minor modification to my car.

It's my car, none of you will ever meet me or drive in my car, but this has become such a massive issue for all of you that we are now at 350 comments!

All because I didn't let you guys get away with saying completely stupid irrelevant things and make repeated condescending patronizing comments; instead I responded in kind.

But please do keep the comedy show going because not only are the individual comments hilarious but the fact that it has gone on for so long is also ridiculously funny.

And the kicker, based on one response here and a few responses on another forum it will work, it is a great idea and all of the doom and gloom sayers were wrong.

So not only was there a multitude of condescending arrogance towards me, but it was all completely wrong meaning it came from people who had no idea what they were talking about.

But nothing will beat the two guys that said I had almost no chance of getting the answer to my question, literally just after I got the answer to my question.

I think for two days they argued that.

Now as much as you may think I might be doom and gloom I dont see my comments that way.
Now as for technical stuff which I know you hate to talk about, and I do like to research interesting stuff. I class this as an interesting challenge.
I am actually gonna ask you 1 question although you always seem reluctant to answer anything techy I ask.

What does your rear diff look like? Does it have a convetional looking diff pan bolted on the rear?

Because this is the only difference I can see in major design change although it appears to use the same bolts to fix in place, which tells me the rear subframes are the same for that part.

The 2 different designs may use different drive shafts. we know they did, but as yours is a V8 they may have used the same 1s.

The fronts all seem to have the same fixing points down to having the same O ring between diff and sump. Some of the bolts are different lengths (longer for your proposed change).

And again drives shafts are unknown at this time.

This is what I have found, but beware I dont know how true any of that info is.

So the rest is up to you now isnt it, I have already said what I would do, which was get the 2 side by side (in person best) and give them a dam good coat of looking at before even touching a bolt.

Your guess at £100 each to me sounds low, and I wish you luck doing it on the drive.

Just hoping that if he does it, or doesn't but still makes the trip, that he doesn't accidentally go up my road, notice the landies, of which there are a lot, (3 out of 4 houses including mine), and stop off for a "chat".
