Yep got the seal. Looks pretty rusty under there. Will have to give it a good cleanup and paint.

First stumbling block, the hub nuts are not budging. I folded the tabs out, applied plus gas. Tried my big dewalt impact wrench, tried a 2ft breaker bar to a point I was worried it would break, tried heat and giving it a wack whilst using the breaker bar no joy. Will see if I can get a longer breaker bar. Anything else I can try?
Do you mean the big nut on the end of the drive shaft? No need to undo that to remove the hub and do the swivels

Am going to give it all a good cleanup and regrease the wheel bearings at the same time. Don't think maintenance was a high priority for one of the former owners. Someone has even painted the calipers light blue for some reason.

The yoke is easy to clean up once the swivels are out. The hub can be cleaned up on the bench. Next stress is getting the abs sensor out! Then the bloody balljoints, I wish you well:D.
DONT TOUCH/MOVE THE ADJUSTABLE COLLECT UNDER THE BOTTOM BALLJOINT:p!

I painted mine with ATF on SS’s recommendation. Worked great few days later it had eaten all the crap off left it shiny whereas it started off very similar to yours. Cleaned up luverly for MOT. Thing was weeks later it had continued doing its thing and seemed crustier than ever. Came off is decent enough now though. Evil stuff never get it on you.

Gearbox oil? Interesting, I'll keep that in mind. Why didn't you paint it up @RangeRoller dt

So started the strip down today in between the rain showers. Pictures show how far I got before realising I didn't have a 24mm spanner to undo the top ball joint bolt, one will be here tomorrow. The o/s is so seized up its difficult to move in either direction and undoing the bottom bolt moved the hub before it started to come undone. More fun and games tomorrow..

I did? With atf :D
Was too rough like ^^^ above. Maybe when I get round to doing these ball joints itl be gooderer now. Still need EP90 (that’s shot up in price!), splitter to pop the track rods off, and new hub bolts (£32!). Possibly abs sensors/CVs/hubs who knows .
Unsure wether to get a gear puller for the hubs or what size? Once it’s off il be stuck here til it’s done without the p38 to take me anywhere.

EP90? What is that for??

You just need one or two good hammers to pop the track rod ends Jack lad. A good few sharp blows on the hole the track end fits into and it'll eventually pop out;)
