Last night met a fine girl for a date in Oxford. Had a great time not leaving restaurant 'til midnight. She arrived with big smiles as had just bought a brand new Evoque...!! Have to say I really like the very latest Evoque, not for me, for their design lines and this was in a very attractive blue-grey colour with super duper alloy wheels. Had a look inside...the thing lights up like a Christmas tree with ignition on...similar to the 69 amigos. Apparently JLR now offer client training days to learn what all the soft function buttons do [utterly ridiculous].

We said our gone midnight under the mistletoe goodbyes and I headed home. Came off A34, heading along local country B road and noticed a Rozzer mobile parked nose-in in a farm yard entrance, slowed down, passed Rozzer mobile and continued on my way. 5mins later a car drove up very close to me and followed for about a mile then it too lit up like a Christmas tree, this time the lights were BLUE !! Indicated and pulled up. Got out of the car to be greeted by a couple of traffic plods. I welcomed their greeting by replying, "Good evening Orificers, is everything okay...any reason why I've been stopped?" They replied they were "Looking for a car..." I thought this somewhat odd and confirmed, "Well you're not having my car..." They laughed saying it must be another car they're looking for

I wished them a good weekend and a happy Christmas.

Q? Is this the standard of plodding rozzer intelligence these days...going out onto the public highway to look for a car of no name? It's bloody obvious that one would find a 'car' on the public highway. Or, were they just bored and pulled me over for a bit of seasonal fun...?

Q? Is this the standard of plodding rozzer intelligence these days...going out onto the public highway to look for a car of no name? It's bloody obvious that one would find a 'car' on the public highway. Or, were they just bored and pulled me over for a bit of seasonal fun...?

Tis the time of year for polices nabbing drunk drivers. Quiet country lanes used as rat runs from the pub to home is a good hunting ground for plod. If they smell drink on you they dispense with the flimsy excuses for why they stopped you.

I find after 5 mins around Swindon roundabouts your realigned with life & idiots.

At least where @kevstar lives they put marks on the road for the bikes to follow so they don’t hit the walls/barrier/scenery

Done some trials riding & loved it. Better than motocross. Wanted to do some long distance enduro riding… may have to get a trial sidecar out fit for fun. Oh the hi cap can fit a quad in due to the wide tail gate

when I take mine out in the summer, If M is in the garden she knows when to get the beer/coffee ready as she can hear me leave the next village away.

Ive never had a trials bike had a few goes on one iirc it was a beta 300. Im done with quads I had a road

Agree with you about the quad. Dont take ours too far on the road and as its only got a top speed of about 55mph, but still need to be alert.
Ours is mainly used on tracks and around the garden so has good use and fun for visitors who cant ride the XT to get around the local forest.

Sometimes they are on a 'stakeout' following info about a probable 'something' going to happen so they park up to 'watch' on all possible roads which might get used in the 'probable event'. Having so many missing links in their info they sometimes stop a car which just might fit in with what they do know. I hope you are following this.

We had a time when the cops asked us if they could hide and 'stay the night' on our drive (concealed entrance in Berkshire area) as they needed to be ready for action if the possible PO raid took place. It didn't and they must have been frozen solid after waiting there for about 6/7 hours.

For me it was not right, That would have normally finished under safety car.
