Unfortunately I somehow managed to knock the garter spring off the rear of the seal either when I was tapping it home or when I was struggling to get the half shaft to engage into the diff. Spent 1/2hr trying to get the spring back on but failed so gave up on that (driver's) side. Will have to wait until Monday before I can get another if it's even stocked at my local indy...
Anyway, carried on with the front passenger side then remembered I haven't got the lock nuts for the top balljoints, got them for the bottom balljoints just not the top, why they aren't supplied is an annoyance, ass holes. Built up as much as I could on the passenger side, just the caliper to go on and torque up the new hub nut but I'm leaving that untill the balljoint nuts are fitted and tightened.
Hopefully I can get the two nuts and oil seal on Monday and carry on.
The allmakes ABS sensors caused some confusion as the rubber grommet things(3 or 4 of them? I forget) were not in the correct position on the cable and didn't want to slide along it, they were glued(?) In totally the wrong place and took some effort to break the bond but they went eventually.
Question.. I've got to seperate the old brake hoses from the pipe connection just above the chassis rail to fit the new ones, I intend to open all the joints on the flexies ( they are all being renewed) and replace the rear brake pipes all at the same time , I've covered the fluid reservoir with polythene and screwed the cap back on to slow down or hopefully stop the reservoir/abs pump gubbins getting lots of air in. Am I over thinking this and it'll bleed up fine if I follow the manual? All the old fluid will be renewed of course, just a bit worried.
I used a britpart polythene bag so that's probably got a pin hole in it anyway:rolleyes:

Done front flexi today. Left the cap on to stop air gulping in and went for it - quick swap over. Lost only a few drops, less than taking calliper off, and bled straight out got away without needing top up.
Strange really? things don’t normally go so swimmingly so il be paranoid for few days.
Is this your thread now anol?

:D
