Today, I just gave it a good clean inside, hope for a warm weekend might wax it for winter protection, what have you been up to?
Just filled a gaping hole on rear o/s passenger wheel arch using duct tape and aluminium mesh then cut up an old chinese foil tray pressed it into rough shape of arch then filled over with fibreglass paste it worked brill and strong too.

The bulb for the clock isn't there because I need to buy a new one. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. And the HEVAC lights up as do all of the lights along the top, each of the buttons like fog lights, EAS just not the cruise control. I can't remember if that has a bulb in it or not and tbh I forgot to check yesterday. Regardless, the IC was lighting up perfectly without those 2 working.

At the moment I just have the rusted through spots treated with anti-rust/ conversion stuff, then covered with gaffa tape for now. I'll need to do what you have done before winter comes.

According to the hand book the dimmer on the stalk also dims the switches so if they are working IMO the stalk is ok.

He's taken it back for a bit. I revved it to the limiter and a load of broken up cat flew out the back and it started to run right! Compression is consistent but still lower than ideal on all cylinders so he's considering rebuilding it while he has a second car. The rear oil seal has been leaking forever so it seems like a good time to have the engine out.

Sounds like the best coarse of action:)

unplugged all my LPG stuff earlier, reset adaptive values and engine was idling normally! target rpm was still well off, i wonder if its a bug within nanocom showing the wrong value?

Thanks. I know this already and I have tested the circuit on the two indicator stalks I have and both are fine. That's not the issue. I wish it was because then I would have fixed it already. Again, thanks for trying to help.

The only option I see for fixing these instrument cluster lights is either a new indicator stalk or a new BECM. Because I have tested everything and everything reads back as being fine. All I can think is I have until Feb 2022 to sort this before the MOT is due. Talk about being fed up.

From your previous post I assumed you still suspected it may be faulty :)

Don't forget to put that in the advert so the buyer knows about it's immaculate bodywork :D

What about this

Panel Dimmer:
Operation of the panel dimmer switch, with the side
lamps on, will alter the level of panel illumination
between approximately 6 and 94%. Depressing the
switch momentarily will cause the illumination to
increase or decrease to the next level. Holding the
switch closed will cause the illumination to ramp
towards fully on or fully off.

The illumination level selected will be stored in the
BeCM’s non–volatile memory whenever the driver’s
seat store sequence is completed successfully, provided
the side lamp switch is on. If the side lamp
switch is not on and a successful memory store
sequence is completed, then the previously stored
illumination level will remain unchanged.
