Well the pond water level has sunk, but it isn't completely empty, so much sh!te in the bottom. So stabbed it even more to death with the fork, wiggling it around to make the holes bigger.
Dragged the "water feature's" pump out and cleaned it, yuk!
Looks to me like it ought to run but we have no need for it now!
Checked the electrical feed to it and that's OK so Wifey now needs to decide what sort of light she wants to go in or on the edge of the new bed.
We also now have a big globe-shaped concrete ball with a hole down the middle of it, that used to be our fountain, about a foot in diameter. Dunno wot "we" are going to do with it.;)
W has ordered a big (and expensive) birdbath thing consisting of a semi spherical bowl 55cms across and a plinth type thing.
Dottir's fiancé is upset cos he being a stonemason and all would have made her what she wanted for nothing. (How were we to know, We thought he just did monumental masonry.)
I suggested putting the globe in it.
She didn't like the idea.
She also had a woman from HMRC ring her about her complaint. She agreed that W did nothing wrong, in fact did right by pointing out their errors and will be investigating further. So W put the phone down and got all teary. I'd just have got angry, but there you go, so tea, sympathy and brandy were all served in equal measures!
So life goes on!
Enjoy the rest of the day peeps!
:):):)
Gone dull here but don't think it actually rained.

Emmmm.... it it isn't hot enough to cause the pool to evaporate, what is the point in having a pool?
o_O:confused::confused:o_O
Aha!
It does evaporate, but, and this is the clever bit, in the winter it fills up with rainwater and overflows!
So yes, it does evaporate a bit, but the cover cuts down the evaporation. We have to top ours up about twice a year but that is nothing compared to refilling it.
We have to have something to spend money on!;)

My old neighbour had a water meter fitted as they were single. The company fitted it on the wrong side of the supply and it measured the water used by all 4 properties on this section!! So when she went on holiday and turned off her water, we had none :( I called them up and they turned it back on. They were forced to refund her for a years worth of water payments after it came to light what was happening!

Our water costs about £3 a cubic metre including disposal side of things. So about 240 cubic french things has escaped. I've always reckoned my bills were too high since moving in 5 years ago, didn't think even SWMBO was taking enough baths and showers for a household of 5 people. Might have been a long term leak. Monitoring over the next few bills might reveal all and hopefully an application for a big rebate ------!
