I remember the days before mobile phones, ah, it was more peaceful then. When they first came out I used to do a lot of travelling for work and work colleagues were always calling me whilst I was driving, I hated it. I don't understand what is so urgent every 5 minutes that people must always be able to make or receive calls. Although our car is phone enabled, we don't use it, if someone wants to call me, either they leave a message or don't. If they don't it must mean it's not urgent. If it is urgent, they will call several times and I can stop and answer. I wish people would concentrate on driving properly and not on phone calls.

Me too, I also remember driving 100 miles to a job only to find out it's been cancelled. Then mobiles came along :D

Hi every one
well my GAP IID tool arrived bit of fiddling about getting it to work but sorted now ,i just gave it a quick go
it's amazed me what it gives but if you remember my early post's having bother with no hands free via
blue tooth well 2 code on phone 1 most connection not found 2 no phone amplifier found ,have not got a
clue what that means but no doubt someone will tell me .
I have spent awhile trawling through my electrical workshop manual and found what they look like so will
take it from there but if anybody has any input feel free thanks

May seem like a daft question but is the fibre optic cable plugged in. Some get bypassed when the module goes faulty.

yes plugged in I did remove to send away for checking and fitted most by-pass but removed all that
and replaced module all works fine, the radio sat nav etc would not work if not in properly I assume
Its a pity Land Rover don,t want to know all I want them to do is tell what,s needed and I offered to
pay for that info !!where have all the good dealers maybe to the the great showroom in the sky ?

I've just unplugged my most from the phone module and yes you are right the radio does not work but it is possible (though unlikely) that yours has already been bypassed somewhere else.
Other than this I can't think of anything else to try.

Hi bachinblack
this one will make you laugh been on to L R UK about this and they kindly got back yo me with a web
connection link to follow ? great I thought clicked on gave me a list of Land rovers then a list older ones
no mention of a RR made in 2005 but 2006 to 09 so clicked that on put y vin in let me through to another
page pick my phone my make and model know ware to be found but it gave me a fantastic print out of
how to pair it same as in manual? so sent email back asking if thy made a range rover in 2005 or am I
driving a foreign import they don'know about !!

That's probably the list of supported phones from over 10 years ago so yes unlikely your phone will be on the list. Obviously bluetooth has evolved a lot over that time and I will at some point dig out an old phone and see if that works on mine.
LR are not interested in old models, I nipped into a main dealer to ask about a replacement key and was having a good chat with a young assistant about the older models until another member of staff came within earshot then the chat suddenly stopped and he was unable to help any further.

well I wonder how many range rovers they sell when we start getting charged per mile,I would get rid of mine but
why should I just because it's getting on a bit so am I but i can still old my own if it comes to it ,and it,s funny but
every time I walk into local dealer they all disappeared but the laugh was on the last time I wanted to buy a new
Evouge for my son so went down road and got him a B M W (wash my mouth out) HA HA

Probably best you don't mention the Evouge on here :D
IMO the people that buy a Range Rover won't be too bothered about a mileage charge, they would have to pay it regardless.

Hi every one and a happy new year
can any one tell me what this box is for, because as you are aware i am having trouble getting hands free in
my Rangy ,only because I am checking all components to do with audio and blue tooth this part is located
in rear near side along with CD bluetooth module and a few other bits that I am trying to identify so I know
all parts to do with hands free are fitted!!
I Have uploaded photos of part and also of the compartment showing other bits I have fitted a most loop
to test that I still get sat nav radio etc and still do so is this part for telephone or something else thank you
