I would just like to say

Feeling a bit of a **** now.
I was cutting through the 3mm plywood that form the mini-shutters for the front windows on top of the breakfast bar.
I had a whole newspaper under the plywood sheet.
I still managed to go through everything and into the worktop underneath (even though the plywood had not separated at the cut-line)
Deep gouges on the work surface. Oops!
I scraped the tops of the gouges clear of the raised material and then gave it a light buffing with some 800 paper and then a coat of boot-polish and a buff with a cloth.
I did admit to it, as I knew she would spot it anyway. Now she's muttering curses that invoke the "New Onyx worksurface" beast. FFS! Its just a scratch.

I have just been reminded of when I put a hot pan down on an ordinary old skool worktop. Well yes, it did happen. So I sympathise.

Afternoon All I forgot to press the send button this morning.
Usual stuff is all done and I am on my first cup of coffee.
Slept ok till 5:30 then could not get back to sleep so read a book for a while and then got up before my alarm.
Expecting some assistance from my son's today to do the final assembly of her Birthday present (the swing).

And the "assistance did arrive. My youngest popped over to help me move the 2 halves of the swing to lower end of the garden and put it together.
Here it is with "Milady" who asked for it. She thinks it might be a bit "big".
