Hi

I had the car up today to check the bearings as I there is a distinct familiar rumble coming from the front. No noise whilst spinning by hand but defo as driving especially on the mway. Would you go for a bearing replacement or the whole hub? Also I have noticed a misting on the drive shaft and a leak at the Gearbox is this a DIY fix or garage number. I shall attach pics. TIA

Further to yesterday’s post and one snapped CV retainer bolt later. Firstly does anyone know the torque setting for this. I found somewhere saying it’s 110 nm but I am wary as it didn’t seem to take much to snap the thing first time around.
Second point No grumbling from the bearing whilst spinning by hand, no play at 12-6 but definitely play at 9-3. The tyres on both outer edges front are significantly worn so am I right in thinking it’s more likely a tie rod issue than bearing. I am on the verge of pulling the trigger for buying all major servicing items is there a parts list with quantities/volumes for fluids. Thanks again

Which bolts are you referring to, the one in the end of the drive shaft? (referred to as halfshaft bolts in the manual).

The torque for the halfshaft retaining bolts is 45nM + 80° rotation.

That is the one. I really appreciate the feedback.
