Hi everyone.

I was told a long time ago removing the dry liner on these engines was near impossible or required machining out. Is this the case?
Having had a look at a bare block I have here it looks like they are blind fitted with nothing to hook onto to pull them out.
I was wondering if welding a bar into the bore and pulling on that may work?

There is definitely a liner looking line around the cylinder if looking from the top face of the block. But from underneath all I see is casting. So im presuming (Rightly or wrongly) they were pressed into a blind hole from factory?

red blocks are not linered from the factory, liners have allways been offered as an option when a block had been bored to the max +60 at the time and needed another rebore, you fitted a liner and bored that to fit standard pistons, liners need to be machined out

liners are pressed in with a 3-4 thou interference fit, thats a big press
those types are much harder/require more skill to get a perfect bore than a machine shop spec
