hi all

All the time I’ve had my d1 I’ve noticed there’s no water appearing from anywhere when I have the ac turned on. I have been underneath and checked what I think is the drain tube but still nothing, it works as it should apart from this tho

Any ideas please

Towsey

Isnt there two tubes? one either side of the trans tunnel?
Have you checked the foam under the floormats?

It depends on the ambient temps/humidity whether will see any water on the ground below the gearbox, most of it evaporates before the ground anyway.
Can’t say I look for the water on any of my cars that have had AC, but i’ve noticed only sometimes with the disco because higher of the ground which has AC on all the time i’m in it. :)

Thanks for replies

To be honest not looked at near side of tunnel but do get damp floor on drivers side but in wet weather so presumed this to be something else. To be honest this is the first vehicle ive noticed no water, even tractors leave a noticeable amount on hard standing. Am I right in thinking it’s the tube up near top of tunnel with the squeezy end on it

Cheers

Yes that will be the pipe, Iirc on d1 and 2 the pipes are just under the front edge of the centre console.

Cheers

The pipe wasn’t blocked and I poked some wire up it aswell but nothing, ran the air on for a while but nothing, the pipe didn’t even get moist, where does it go behind the dash?

Who knows, I’v never had to go there, nether have I seen any diagrams and there doesn’t seem any thing stated in the forums on the exact D1 pipe locations.
Is your AC is functioning correctly, what is the temp coming out of the dash vents ? with the system switch over to ‘recirculated’. at the moment mine system is putting out around 6c to 7c from the vents with the outside temp 30c +.

Look at first pic see the drain? no then se 2nd pic see the nipple? one each side, 3 rd pic item 13, lower drawing between numbers 2+6 and 6+7.
From memory if you remove centre console you can get to the hoses easy.

Thank you for that

Yeah it works well to be honest so might need to do a bit of rummaging around and see wot I can find under there

Just while we’re talking about wet floors, apart from the aircon draining into the carpet, what other points of ingress do you guys know of. It has sunroofs sealed up but I’m wondering about where the loom comes thru the bulkhead near the throttle pedal???

Thanks again

Towsey

I had a bad water leak on a late 300, and it was where the main loom came itno the car through the passenger side bulkhead, right pig to fix that was, access being the main issue.
Also had screen leak, again on a 300.

Could also be where roof rails mount!
I too had one on a 300 screen. Used orrible black silicone sealant special for fitting car windows. worked fine, just awkward to get to.

Cheers for that folks

Amazing things land rovers aren’t they, you start off with non dripping air conditioning and next thing ya know your squeezing stuff into your crack ha, wot a weird world we live in!

Cheers tho

Towsey
Yep. think this is first thread I've seen on here with someone worried something is NOT letting liquid out!

Oh yeh I had that as well but on a td5, unbolt rail, fill hole with silicon refit rail job done.
