I am trying to debug an issue with vibration of engine/landrover at around 2 to 2.5 k rpm. So monitoring stats.
2.2 diesel fl2

Should the throttle pos always be at 83.14
When I stop engine it briefly goes down to 5 but then goes back up to 86.
Thanks for any values for comparison!
 
There will be 2 throttle values, one increasing as the throttle is pressed, the other value will drop as the pedal is pressed. This is a double check safety system. ;)

These arnt actually the readings on obd as I understand it. They come from the throttle body it self regulating air flow. It turns out that air flow regulation is used on a diesel to increase the effectiveness of the evil egr. This is why when driving it remains open and the only time you see it change is when you take your foot off the pedal. At engine shut down it is used to smoothen the stop.which is why I see it go down briefly then. So mine is working as designed it seems. I must look elsewhere for my vibration. Readings on my live graphs from obd2 all look normal. I am thinking it's the overly complex landrover hydrolloc engine mount perhaps.

The reading for throttle position and throttle valve position are different. Throttle pedal position is used by the ECU to regulate diesel supply. It uses the variable return voltage from the throttle potentiometer do this.

The throttle valve (sorry my phone auto corrected, swapping value with valve earlier:mad: now corrected) position is used to restrict air induction, make the EGR more efficient.

That's correct. Lots of people remove the throttle valve, as it's known to go sticky with goop.

There are tests you carry out to see what the issue is. If it's before 2011, it could be an issue with the swirl flaps?
 
rereading my own post, as ironically my throttle body now actually does have a fault. The "Command Throttle Actuator" value (which I think shows the value the engine wants) behaves as expected when foot comes off the pedal or engine is stopped, however the throttle position it self and relative throttle position remain always at 85. So it is stuck open. You can feel extra shudder when the engine stops, which I guess is a symptom those modders who remove it have to live with.
I guess I will get a new throttle body and fit that.

Whilst I am revisiting this post I can tell you what caused the odd vibrating at the engine speed this post was about - it was the crank shaft position sensor wiring. It actually ended up regularly killing the sensor it self. I bought a donor loom and spliced it from the ecu below the wipers all the way down to the sensor. No problems with that since.

I had the same issue. A bad connection in the plug was causing the crank sensor to fail after about 2k miles.
I replaced the plug with a new upgraded one, as there wasn't anything wrong with the wiring.

Mine has a vibration at 2 to 2.5k RPM, under full load. I think it's an injector, as I also get an occasional dropout when accelerating hard when the engine is cold.
