What’s the best way to get rid of the weeds in my lawn?

feed and weed or just keep cutting them out.

Not been cut for a couple of weeks.

Pull them up its the best way by far.... You will reduce them year after year massively. Sprays are ok but never knock them on the head just tend to kill the annual growth. You could buy a burner (flame gun) but with the size you have and cost of paraffin I would just pull them up. My wife has a horse field and we have issues and the best solution has been Pulling them.

Call in Time Team ....

Ha! I’m sure there’s a buried king here somewhere. I know it looks a mess but things have been somewhat busy lately and not had the time keep on top of things.

Believe it or not it’s mostly grass. Must be some kind of spot on weed killer? I guess I could kill it all off and resow/put down turf. Not sure I’m that bothered.

They do a weed burner regularly in Lidl or Aldi ...

Nice sharp mower not set too low - annual weed and feed and make sure you remove all the clippings and detritus, a good rake through to get any moss out always helps. Drainage is the key, get a folk in there to break up the roots, good roots equals good grass.

personally I think planting a lawn is the sign of decline of any civilization. You have to keep on cutting it, knowing well in advance that it will grow up again, you keep on cutting the damned thing and it grows back again. Not only that, instead of trying to figure out how to make it stop growing, you would give it more help to grow thicker and faster, so you would need to cut it more often! This must be what ended the Romans and dinasours.
However if you insist on having a lawn the best way to solve your problem with least effort is keeping half a dozzen chickens :)

As three others have said, keep on cutting it and make sure you remove the cuttings. Weeds grow from above ground, grass grows from below,(so to speak, bad way of putting it but some on here will know what I mean!) so the more you cut it the more the weeds die.
This from my s-i-l who is deputy head greenkeeper on a F-off big golf course int midlands so has massive practical knowledge as well as all the horti and arbori qualifications.
Mind you I wouldn't mind a clover lawn.
