Morning, survivors, Are you sitting comparably ? as per title I'm locked out of the black??paint code 574,could be charcoal. All sill buttons are up, the door lock turns,it used to allow the tailgate button to operate but not now. The battery is fully charged, luckily the bonnet cable had seized do the bonnet can be opened.I took the drip strips off the front doors yesterday to make sure rods were still attached. I'm thinking either the doors are superlocked or the plug that has the earth wires have become disconnected. I had a similar problem some time ago, stripped the drivers door lock out and tested the micro switches using @martyuk 's guide everything checked out.I thought I had removed the superlock motors but that must have been on the red one.Sooo,I either break the passenger front window (I was given a spare years ago)to gain access to remove the drivers door card or cut through the drivers door striker to be able to remove the lock or reconnect the earth plug.I would prefer this, less mess. Unless anyone has a better idea, So endth today's lesson. Perhaps a poll would have been called for:rolleyes:

Does it think it’s being nicked with the bonnet being opened and the doors still locked?

worth frigging the bonnet catch so it thinks it’s closed. Passenger side lock on mine I use an Short extension & a screw driver

have to read the manual for anymore ideas, and read up on the superlocking (I have never used it) Without busting something.

Oh the joys of Range Rover P38 owner ship:p

Just had a quick look about the “super locking”

from the manual

’Superlocking’ using the handset:
Press and release the ’lock’ button (1) on the handset twice (within 11/2 seconds). After 15 seconds you will hear ’superlocking’ engage.
If any door, the bonnet or tailgate is left open, a mislock will occur (see ’Mislock’).
If a window or sunroof is open, superlocking will engage immediately, however volumetric protection will not be activated.
To unlock:
Press and release the ’unlock’ button (2) on the handset once.

If the handset is inoperative, the vehicle can be unlocked by using the emergency key access code (see ’Emergency key access’).

Now the last lines maybe of interest if the car has super locked itself, because you did say you ran through your latch and it checked out ok.

Thanks J I've tried the bonnet catch,no luck.guess where the EKA code is? the tailgate used to open when I used the key in the drivers door lock and turned it to open. Now it won't, as its earthed through the door lock micro switch makes me think the earth plug has become detached (twin plug type lock). Wonder if there is a way to operate the tailgate button by earthing it before I start cutting.

I think someone called it out that an earthed pin inserted into one of the rear tailgate wiring wires unlocked things and his post was removed for "security reasons".

Update, gained access, reached in with a garden rake and recovered the owners manual from the drivers seat.entered the EKA code .....nothing.interior handle. ...nothing iI can only assume the drivers door lock either hasn't power or most probably an earth. If anyone knows about @DanClarke 's post#11 a pm would be appreciated saves breaking a window. I've just found the spare in the garage roof void.brought it down into the garage and found a swarm of bee's making a home under it. Wish I'd built that hive I've planned for the last year.

All I remember was that it was a post about getting a locked P38 open. The OP said all I had to do was..... and IIRC it was @Saint.V8 who asked that a moderator remove the post because we didn't need people to know how to get into P38's without a key and without doing damage.
