I have no idea , it will come, but still a bit specilaised for normal diy use.
I once had a merc v8, and it had injector issues, mate said he had one and would plug it in for me, it was huge and looked like it came from a hospital, still it looked pretty!

does that mean I’m going to be the guinea pig, lol

think some of my main interests will be , suspension , height sensors , alternator test, canbus

Understand bi directional better , also be interesting to be able to test sensors etc, getting basic data and by doing so hopefully help with fault finding

Actually you can buy Hantec oscilloscope at 2/3 of that price if you order it directly from China
But how to choose! There's variations all at similar prices. I'm guessing some do more post processing than others, not just raw input tracing over a screen.
I should have asked more questions in physics class

many thks, however didn’t see where some had issues trying to change the language setting

the uk one is around £140 , thinking if I buy from uk if there’s issues at least it should be easier to make contact , well in theory, lol

Thks again

hi mate

found these links which hope will be useful

https://autoditex.com/page/how-to-choose-an-automotive-oscilloscope-61-1.html

am also spending time to look at many others to try and narrow them down, but the Hantek does keep coming back as a favourite for now , but not going to rush into buying it just yet

Wish to review many others and what they can and can’t do l just established there’s a difference between the automotive ones

For engine troubleshooting a basic tool is enough. I have an old russian bench oscilloscope with signal generator which suits my needs but if i'll decide to buy one for automotive troubleshooting depending on how much i'd like to spend i have two versions:
1. cheap and esy to use for basic troubleshooting(for a Td5 is enough) https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/223965399138?chn=ps
2. not so cheap for complex troubleshooting(CAN-bus) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hantek-2D82AUTO-Kit-Automotive-Diagnostic-Oscilloscope-60-99MHz-30-000wfm-s-AB/223772168741?_trkparms=aid=1110012&algo=SPLICE.SOIPOST&ao=1&asc=20200420083544&meid=ab9e2990db58407bbe7a65a27c7c1be1&pid=100008&rk=1&rkt=3&sd=223740596816&itm=223772168741&pmt=1&noa=0&pg=2047675&algv=PromotedSellersOtherItemsV2&brand=Hantek&_trksid=p2047675.c100008.m2219

here's a good video

hi mate

many thks and most appreciated and will check that out :)

I would believe a workbench oscilloscope and an automotive oscilloscope are the same.
But I could be wrong.

hi

to be honest I’m not 100% , all I’ve seen when I’ve searched was ones that says automotive and others that don’t

going to have a look at the video @sierrafery just kindly posted
