Hi guys, I've recently inherited the family landy. A 2001 td5. It's currently in a less than healthy state and I was looking at getting an engine rebuild as seen in an ad on eBay (eBay item number: 274145953254) and wondered if anyone had ever dealt with the company before. £1650 for a fitted engine seems almost too good to be true... is it?

Thanks for the replies. They're located in Bilston, Wolverhampton. Really wary now. They're called engine-rebuilds-uk

As all abovr have said, use a garage that has been recommended by someone you trust. Too many dodgy types out there.
Try asking in the Disco forum or the Regional LZers

I have no idea if yer have a disco or tratter. Regardless of this... don't use the the garage in the ebay add. It looks like it has been taken down. the same rip off garage in Wolverhampton uses many different addresses on the web in order to get their thieving hands on yer motor and cash. You will be very lucky to see either again. They're currently being taken through court for this.

As other have said, post up a rough location in the tratter or disco section and someone on ere will advise a garage to use.

Welcome to the forum

Welcome.

If you're happy getting your Landy shipped to the midlands area, I know a mechanic that's a genius with landy's, especially the Td5. I have a D2 too, and in all honesty, I won't take mine to anyone else. Plus, He's a fellow enthusiast and has a D2 and a Defender 110 and is part of a reputable green laning club. He's based just outside Southam, warwickshire.

I can ask if he'd take on this job if you're interested, and then pass his contact details over to you. If I don't get back to you straight away, hassle me via PM if you like.
