SEAT BELT BUCKLE COVER MISSING! And that's a fail?! Well ferk me with a tree trunk. What possible harm can that do. Mind you, don't see how it can come off unless some beggar smashes it!
At least it didn't fail on something serious. (I nearly always forget to check the numberplate bulbs!!!)
Still jealous!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Na, it didn't fail. It passed. Those were just advisories.
Fortunately he missed the two holes on each inner wing :D:D:D:D

That's a really nice looking motor there my friend :) - it looks nice and straight too, which is always a bonus on the 3dr's as they do like to rust - way worse than the 5dr in my experience :mad::mad::mad:

Glad to read all the worms have been discumnockerated :D

Love a 3dr - best of the D1's by a long shot :)

Cheeky bar steward :D - Midget gems and Mars bars are a better currency for scrappers ;) - plus there's always cake - must never forget cake ;);) :)

a mate and I used a 3 door to do Motor Sports Recovery for years. Brilliant for that job, mounted with a Milemarker hydraulic winch. Winch is probably worth more than the motor now which he hasn't used for years and is just rotting away on his drive, like so many.

Never seen a Milemarker winch it even sounds like a beast, a pic of that disco for my other thread would be nice ;)

for the winches. You put the pump where the AC pump was, stick a bit of wood tween the accelerator and the seat to give a slightly higher tickover and leave the bonnet up.. Precautions really. Unbelieavably powerful but slower than electric.
I'm nowhere near my mate for a pic of his Disco, but I'll search under "Greyhound recovery" there might be some archived stuff still there. There ain't just loads of stuff about recovering greyhounds! He named it thus because he had rescued greyhounds at home. Some other beggar has a business called Greyhound Recovery Ltd in Bristol but it ain't him!

Sure are a price, my mate got his years ago and he had a mate who was an agent for Milemarker in the UK and I am not sure he didn't use his vehicle as a demonstrator. Plus I don't think his winch was top of the range either. But we were able to recover absolutely anything and some stuff was well tough, down in ravines etc. like the "auld bit o timber" sounds well scots! how about "Auld dod o wood"! (Billy Connolly)

Forgot to mention, my mate's isn't a three-door, it's a commercial, with only 2 seats and no side windows to rear, which made what he wanted to do with it just fine.

Yeah apparently commercials are now "sought after" (bullsh1t phrase) lord knows why, they still rust in the same places, more or less. My mate still doesn't know what to do with his. If it was me I'd off the winch, probably for good money, then out the rest of it, or do up the rust get an MOT then off it. Then spend the money on a nicer 3 or 5 door. Always wanted a camper, i.e one with a roof that raises up and bed and cookin/washing gear inside. sh1tter in a box too, I suppose. Don't see them often and what you do see costs a packet. but yours really does tick a moad of boxes (sh1t phrase again). I think D1s are up cos there are getting to be fewer decent ones, they are much easier to work on and more reliable, still as economical as a D2, and although they rust, at least it can be dealt with easily. Somehow body rsut on a Landy is just a bit more reasonable than chassis rust like on the D2 which to me makes it not an LR if you see what I mean. But then having to remove the body on a Landy to mend anything mechanical on it is barmy and so far removed from the idea of an overlanding vehicle that I cannot consider anything beyond a D2 as a proper LR. Just an overweight electrical toy. But then that is my biased opinion!
