All our NZ members and wannabees ... @GrumpyGel

Rocket Lab and its linkage with America is great for New Zealand, and boy are they expanding big time in Auckland at their Command Center and 27 jobs at Rocket Lab job now on offer.

This article describes their plans for 16 launches this year and by next year a launch a week.

What's next for Rocket Lab: Peter Beck talks US Air Force launch, more
The guy behind this is a space/rocket nerd who's managed to get lots of backing and is actually making, what looks to be, a successful rocket company I believe his mentor may have been @ming ! When they were shortlisting launch sites one on the list was just outside town here and my son, who was just leaving school at the time, was all excited at maybe getting a job with them. But the launch site on the North Island was chosen.

Maybe just as well with the shakes you've had ?

lol, that'd be great TV news footage - just about to launch and a shake rattles through - rocket falls over and shoots off sideways!

Where they've chosen gets bigger quakes though. The Napier/Hawks Bay quake in 1931 was colossal and that's where the launch site is. They also have the added risk of ash clouds from the volcanoes close by. On the plus side - there's some great wines made locally :D

wouldn't say the pay is low or anything. If no one wants to get off her bum and do some work it's their problem (well, in that case yours, too...).

I do find it funny tho that there were only about 3 vacancies mentioned on three pages. At least try sticking to topic on this one.

And "quality engineer" at land rover? Someone's kidding methinks
It is a very important job, they do not want any quality getting in it will spoil there image

Stroud, Glos.

Britain's last artisan printer is seeking an heir to inherit his business in an effort to revive the fortunes of the letterpress printing trade after his children decided to pursue different careers.

Stanley Lane has worked as a ‘monotype’ hand printer for over 60 years, producing meticulously crafted books from Gloucester Typesetting workshop in Stroud to a select group of publishers.

I bet you need extensive experience with speed cameras
You'd be surprised at how few handheld speed cameras are used around the Island. Primarily they tend to be out in force around TT fortnight, but apart from that they not used that frequently.
There are no fixed speed cameras used anywhere over here as well.

I have only ever really been there for the TT so there were always plenty around when I was there. Although some of them looked suspiciously like old camcorders so I think they were more a deterrent than a money making lark like they are everywhere else. :)

Is that even legal?

50 hour working week - less breaks? ...

https://www.gov.uk/maximum-weekly-working-hours

You can't work more than 48 hours a week on average - normally averaged over 17 weeks. This law is sometimes called the 'working time directive' or 'working time regulations'. You can choose to work more by opting out of the 48-hour week. If you're under 18, you can't work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week.

No, it isn't. And an apprenticeship ad could at least have mentioned training. They're looking for a dogsbody, not an apprentice. Great opportunity my arse - but someone will take it.

Motor trade apprenticeships start at £156 a week in Englandshire - but it is normal to have a driving licence . I guess the 16yo dogsbody role is to see if they are up to the job before investing time and effort in Training.
:)
