As I say it’s not a problem it’s just something I am aware will need doing. Would rather do it before it dumps me on the stops:eek:

When the height settings are done it is important to get the front within two bits side to side. As the car slows to 1 mph or stops both front valves open to equalise pressure across the axle. If one side has more pressure in it than the other the nose drops slightly then rises back to the sensor settings. If you have your foot on the brake suspension will not rise until brake is released or two minutes elapses. So as you stop start it gives the impression the front is dancing.

It will go back together once I have an actual complete exploded view for people to see instead of a sh*te Haynes illustration of little significance. Rings seem fine since they’ve just stood there protected away, little grease might help them sit back tidy?

So many people ask about EAS, biggest cost to original owner of my vehicle, I want them to see for themselves that someone never seen one can do it with patience. May give them answers or the confidence to try themselves.
Honestly anyone that has put a Lego set together for a 6yr old at Xmas could do this with a few warnings and principles of not mixing things up

- other possibility is I completely ruin it and put them off, but atleast they can see what is talked about in tech section is not over technical :)


I’ve read things in search bar about nose dancing and bobbing in traffic, can’t remember where I’m afraid, was never particularly relevant to me :(

For you possibly, you know all this - and I don’t actually have an issue (yet :rolleyes:).

You are correct , the wires come out of the connector other end you need a tiny tool to release them

So there are two types. Two have rubber end with spring inside top, the others have a Spring bottom. The top spacer comes off then twist gently to remove. There was a bit of muck and scale in there

You have the solenoids which must remain in order of type

They bolt onto the block with their assortment of rings.
The block bolts together only one way with a few internal valves&rings plus the pipe connections&rings in the back. Hard to go wrong they only fit where they are supposed to be.

The valves and the coils can be transposed if you are not careful.
 
Total of 51 o-rings, diaphragm seal and 1 square-ring. 28screws (14 of both types), 8 Allen bolts with washer each, 8 pipe connectors in the rear with 2 o-rings each.

One of the internal NRVs is in opposite direction to the other two as pictured.

How do I put it back together? :confused::eek::oops:
 
I don’t have a picture of the bucket of oily rags and grit that came from this. Itl go back better.

If you do an NVQ - you will be professionally qualified to do this.
If you do this instead - you won’t need the NVQ

Horology is another good one apparently. Don’t do this to injectors ;)

Qualified and capable are totally different words with totally different meanings. :D:D
