Hi all,
Will be in the UK in 2 weeks or so. Want to pick up an Ashcroft diff locker for my D1 300tdi.
Would prefer to pick up rather than have it sent. Will be in London.
Any suggestions for a dealer in London with similar pricing to Paddocks?
Regards

Ashcroft are based in a town called Luton, they hold them in stock and can have them built into a diff if you want or supply you a locker to fit at home. Luton is an hour up the M1 from London and you can easily catch a train and a cab there for a trip out, being as they make them, buying from them will be the cheapest option as there is no middle man putting their cut on top of the price.

Of course, you could order it when you get here and have it delivered to your hotel from Ashcrofts directly.

Unfortunately there isn’t any, just LR main dealers. A quick question, as your disco already has a factory fitted diff lock why an Ashcrofts item?
D1 only has a central diff lock. I want a locker for the rear diff as it greatly enhances its performance in difficult terrain.

Thanks dieseldog69. Yes, I guess i will have to that. Buying from Ashcroft directly is actually not cheaper than from Paddocks according to the quotes I got. I was hoping to avoid the UK VAT as I am taking it out of the UK and may be paying a second VAT for it at home, but was told that this is not possible. Not sure why. Used to be that you get a form and with it get a refund at the airport. Anyway, I will have it shipped to my hotel and hope for the best.
Cheers

Yes, you claim the UK VAT back at customs control and then you would be subject to VAT back in Israel & for UK tariff imports tax.

Did you get your battery problem sorted?
Not yet. I ordered a battery selector switch (the type used in boats) with 4 positions (battery 1, battery 2, both, none) and will give it another go once it gets here.
Might have a professional do it. Since I am usually travelling solo in remote places, I'm trying (where possible) to have "double systems". Still working on a 2nd engine though ;)
Will update
Thx
