The LWB series 2a I have just bought has an EXTRA black knob! I am pretty certain it is DIFF LOCK but can anyone confirm this please? I used Landys extensively in the forces and vaguely remember this black lever?
Also can anyone point me to new gear lever knobs for the overdrive gearbox please as my knob is very worn out and has no markings (oo er missus lol) :)

The ORANGE arrow is the lever Im unsure about. The RED AND YELLOW are the normal 4 wheel engage and HI/LO ratio

the first pic (not my car, red dash ) shows it better

Forgot what great fun those old LR videos are, but they need some translation for a younger audience:
Best drive in overalls, some of the things you will need to touch during your journey are underneath...
"Use brakes sparingly" : You get two goes at the brakes, after that your're ***ed. Don't blame us if you used up all your goes by halfway down.
"Select the correct gear for the conditions" : Get into 1st when you can, don't even think about changing down once you are moving. If you were meant to do that we'ed have given you synchro. What are you, some kind of wuss? Next thing you'll want a phone that works anywhere so you can call for assitence.
"Descend using the engine" : Well you can forget the brakes (see above..). The engine will still be there by the bottom (unlike the brakes..)
No need to go to foriegn countries (ie non Englsih speaking), we have perfectly good mountains in the lake district if you really want to fiddle with the carb. The reason you can't get over the Hard Knott pass is not because we only gave you 60 hp, it because of the altitude, got it?
If you get our vehicle stuck its YOUR FAULT you are an embarrassment and you have let yourself down. We are fully entitled to treat you like an idiot if you complain and if you persist you may find yourself transported you to one of the colonies. (actually I think the orginal is slightly firmer on this!)

It's neither a PTO nor an overdrive as far as I believe it's a low high transfer....anyone got a cab to rear bulkhead pic to hand?
