Front end of D2 TD5 is as good as sat on the bump stops. Time for some new springs and shocks. "This should be easy" I told myself...

Holy ****... what the hell is going on?

I've been bombarded with contradicting information, part numbers that mean nothing, colours that don't match part numbers/spec and absolutely no consistency in price across the usual suspects.

So >3A (2004) TD5 Discovery 2 RHD - Looking for good quality standard ride height, standard ride comfort, standard load coils... obviously not Genuine.

Any help would be awesome. I'm either way dumber than I thought I was or this is a seriously messy space.

Cheers.

Follow the recommendation of fery. I have just changed the springs and were not careful enough and bought standard ones for pre 2002 model year. They are too soft on mine. Soon i will also change to the above one.

Yup cheers guys. Ordered as per part numbers given by fery. Can't get Bilstein unfortunately as limited to suppliers that can do everything in one package (in croatia). OEM standard shocks it is.

Can't believe what a mind field it is. Was contemplating a 2 inch lift just to avoid the headaches.

Be also careful with shocks. Can influence a lot of the driveability of the car.
Regarding on 2" lift. The cheap sets are bad quality.....if you do it, do it right and only if you really need it. I removed mine about two months ago.

Yeh not doing the lift. Not while out here at least. Maybe if we were in the UK but its impossible to get parts here. Postage from UK is 30 quid.... 1 bolt wrong and we're grounded...

Just crossing our fingers with the shocks. Blue box expected unfortunately but there are not THAT may horror stories regarding them so meh.

I order every parts from UK (to hungary) and shipping not much more expensive than local shipping cost. Average is about 20 pounds (or even less) and the parts are cheaper and i can order what i need (limited availability here and almost double price).
Once i had quality issue due to packing but wthin a week i got new parts.

Let me know how the new springs behaves and what is the right height (from center of hub to wheel arch). I will need to change my springs as well.
