You'll know about it if you have Kseal in the coolant. It smells like putty and leaves you tearing at your skin because of the itchy copper fibres in it.
The cams look fine now. ;)
Coolant really just smelt sweetly of antifreeze. I'll go and stick my nose right in later.
I think I'll just put a new bottom hose on for now and worry about a PRT later when I've decided if she's well enough behaved, and after at least one more coolant change.
Currently waiting for an 8mm ratchet spanner and 1/4" extension to get the bloody water pump off. Access leaves something to be desired.

Last time I took off a water pump the locating spud came off with it, I didn't realise until I went to fit the new one and couldn't understand why it was moving around so much. Something to watch out for. I also used a little silicone gasket to hold the seal to the pump while fitting it.

aldi regularly have ratchet spanners in store and are quite good actually, ive not managhed to break one yet and mine are at least 2 years old now, no k seal in that coolant and from looks of it theres barely any antifrwez in it either ans contents of that pipe looks like crap from coolant gallerys usually caused by running on straight water of very low antifrezz concentrations, but shold clear with a good flush through with the garden hose

put your heater on the hot setting as you do it as it will flush the heater matrix at the same time but be wary if your water pressure is quite high just adjust the tap so its a nice steady flow

There is a plastic panel in the front wheel arch that you remove to get at the crank pulley.
Can anyone tell me the part number for the screws that hold it in place as the ones that I removed have turned to brown dust.
I also need the screws for the undertray. I never has these as I didn't have an undertray to hold!

It has p1ss3d down continually all day and I felt mighty glad that I wasn't the one on my back on the cold concrete trying to wrangle the radiator bottom hose clip back into place. Too old for that game in this weather.
I made some good coffees though :)

If you are talking about the plastic panel that hangs down from the chassis rails they have a 10mm head but I think are M5 or M6. Not sure but they are thinner than you would expect for a 10mm head and have a very fine thread.
As for the tray I think they might be M8 or M10. I can't remember which but they are a standard size.
The fine screws that hold the bottom of the bumper to the front of the undertray are optional. ;)
Probably not much help but if your like me then you'll buy far too many of all sizes so you always have spares for the future.
