So I’m looking at buying a pretty rough 2007 supercharged rangie, it’s failed it’s mot in fairly minor things,
Bodywork is tatty, rust on the boot lid and rear arch, laquer peeling on a door and inside is a dirty smelly mess due to dogs, oh and it’s done 300,000 miles, what dya reckon I should be paying? Drives well and goes like stink

I reckon the owner should pay you £800 to take it away.
 
That would be cheap, I’ve seen none runners with the engine in bits sell for nearer 2k and that wasn’t supercharged, prob less mileage though
 
It's worth what you're willing to pay, after subtracting the cost of parts/labour( even if doing it yourself, always factor in cost of your time), from the cost of same vehicle in decent condition.
 
I think I’ll get it cheaper than I would say it’s worth, but then there’s the question,
Keep the V8 with 300,000 or stick with the current tractor 2004 td6 with 170,000
The td6 is in better condition but the V8 has, well... a V8, and a supercharged.
Plus the facelift interior which I think is nicer,
Bizarrely the average mpg on the Sc shows 20.2, the same that my td6 shows
 
I was told that with my old td6, had 230,000 on it, was told it’s basically scrap, I easily got it motd used it for 18 months then sold it in for 2500,
facelift and supercharged parts are worth loads still, I bet this car would break for £5000 upwards, i bet if I stuck it on eBay at 3 grand I’d sell it easily
Not that I’d pay anything like that for it.

Sounds like you'e made yer mind up. Buy it for 3 sell it for 5 make 2k profit instantly.
 
I was thinking more like buy it for £500 and sell it for 3 grand.
Well anyway I bought it,
Had failed mot for no handbrake and a track rod end so it’s back in tomorrow hopefully for a pass, seems pretty good really, the only issue I’ve found is a shudder if I pull away very gently. boot it and it’s fine, just need to decide if it’s a misfire or drive train related,

So what did you pay for it then £500?...
 
Sorry no pics yet but will add some tomorrow.
It passed its mot today with only 2 tyres as an advisory which is nice,
Giving her a service tomorrow and maybe a good valet inside as it stinks of dog
