2006 SC (supercharged) Alas, not mine.:(

Story
Not iffy in the operation sense,
One securing bolt was awfully tight to remove and half the threads are stripped, what to do, I've chased the threads but it's not liking being tightened beyond 70% on a normal half inch ratchet.

I knew it felt wrong from the 3rd or 4th turn, but the discs and pads were almost on their limits, so it had to come off.

The offending bolt was tight from the offing and it stripped the last half of threads on the caliper, there is no carrier with this set up.

I'm reasonably confident it's ok, although I plan to loctite the dodgy bolt.

The un-damaged bolt is nice and secure.

This is a 4 pot Brembo caliper, and it's aluminium, no doubt North of £400 new.

Question
Would a thread insert be ok on this?, I'm thinking yes, but....

I'm not worried per say, but it's is my hands on someone else ride.

The forces acting on aforementioned bolts (in my mind) are 90% shear and 10 pull out.

quite undestand having that extra pressure on ur goodself , just put that link up ref inserts , pretty sure there’s another one ref rangy brembo inserts , will see if i can also find that link

Brembo 4 pot, aluminium and the bolt came out like the 3rd (large) pic.,
M12 x 1.5

The inner most threads remain intact, it only stripped after the half way point,
which is six and two three's really.

I'll enquire locally for someone with the kit to do it.

I bought a complete set from M5 through to M12's recently of fleabay ,131 pieces including drills, taps and break off tools in a steel case for £24.95, needed as previous owner had stripped thread on two bolts on EGR, 15 minutes with kit, jobs a gooden

daft question is it better using stainless steel bolts instead of the steel ones to try and prevent the electrolysis issues or simply coppaslip ??
