i have a 2004 Vogue L322. And inherited an on going battery drain. I see it’s a common fault on these cars. I’m an ex car Mecanic (30 years ago) but been in trade ever since. My drain is 2.08 Amps. If I remove fuse 49 it then drops to 50-60 milli amps which is about right to my mind. If remove the blue plug on the media box in rear 1/4 the drain disappears? The pins had some corrosion and one pin had completely gone. I had opened the unit and soldered in a new pin. The sat nav unit now works (blank screen until then) but drain still there?
Any ideas any one
Many thanks in advance

Hi there.
I checked that first of all as I was a manager at BMW for 10 years and it was an epidemic on most BMWs and the L322 electrics are mainly BMW E38 7 series.
My drain goes when Sat Nav box is disconnected? Just confused why this ECU would consume 2 amps.
I think all RR owners have suffered battery drains at some point. Thanks for your reply though

Have you got the Rave Electronics manual as it will tell you what else is on fuse 49, I’m away or I’d look it up for you

Have a look here https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-ro...lus-other-useful-info-on-range-rovers.322195/

Rave = Landrover Bible

I think I got the the electronics manual separately but have a look. It tells you where every pin of every ECU goes and also all your fuses. Water ingress in the rear compartment is fairly common so even though you have fixed one part it could still be bad inside or something else connected to it is

Thanks again
I’ll look at it on my laptop tomorrow only on iPhone at present so it’s a bit fiddly.

Hi all

I have also noticed that since the sat nav screen ecu draining the battery. The interior lights, remote central locking, heated seats, heater control panel have all stopped working?
Any body had a similar situation?

Regards

I would say you have some lose connections somewhere but i would also be plugging it into diagnostics. Have you disturbed anything in the rear side panel where the satnav is or up behind the heater control panel ?
I can email you the electronics library as it's only 7 Mb and has all the fuse details and gives a description of what ECU controls what equipment.
If you pm me your email I'll send it over

On it's way, there is a load of information in it, have a read through the description and operation sections as well
