Defender Brake compensatet

Evening all, I'm trying to find a brake compensator for a 1991 200tdi defender (see pic).
It's an obsolete part and so far Im drawing a blank.
Any ideas where I might get one please?

My old 85 90 has the same compensatetet system, I think early discos had the same compensatetet as well, they are crap , they work with an internal ball bearing , they have yo be at just the right angle to work, which they rarely do and were really designed with drum rears in mind.

Just a thought, wasnt early 110s compensatetet by the rear calipers? Might be worth looking into?

Cheers ill look for a disco one. Mine failed mot on brake balance across rear axle. Fitted new shoes and cylinders made no difference, garage recommended changing compensator.

Balance across the axle wont be the compensator, its a single line from the compensator to the back axle, what is even more worrieng is the garage put it on a rolling road? Its direct 4wd, it will never be right on a rolling road.

Just spoke to my old man (who took it for the mot). The rear brakes aren't working at all (the balance issue was before the cylinder was changed) they work a tiny bit after being pumped. They have been bled and adjusted up.

TTake the G valve off and clean it, could be seized up but I really cant see it, there is nothink in there except a ball bearing and a spring. I doubt thats your problem.

Further update.
I have replaced the following so far (all new parts), master cylinder, rear shoes, rear cylinder and flex pipe. Have pressure bled the system and still no rear brakes. Jack it up apply the brakes and you can turn the rear wheels by hand.
There is fluid coming out when I bleed the rear so at a total loss.
Anybody got any thoughts please.

Have you adjusted up the shoes? Do they lock with the adjuster?

Yes done that and they do mate.

Then backed them off slightly

What did you do with the Compensator valve?

Nothing done with compensator yet. Keep being told that never fails. Think next step is to strip that down.

You could maybe bypass it as a tempory measure just to see if things then work.

Not essential to braking, but safer to have it.
