MOT Suspension advisories

Hi all, I'm very seriously looking at a TD V6 SE
Have checked through everything, looks nice, runs well, no known issues, all major issues already sorted cam, compressor, handbrake mod etc.

However on the last MOT it has 2 advisories

• Nearside and offside Front Suspension arm has slight play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.2)

As this will be my first disco, is this something to be concerned about, or is it an easy fix in due course.
Also does anyone recommend West 4x4 in Southampton as they're my local LR repair shop.

i’ve done a buyers guide at the top of this section if it’s any help

may i ask what year is it plse, auto, manual, mileage , D3 do indeed eat bushes as there a heavy vehicle

before u buy it i would get them to replace them , along with a 12 month mot

may i ask , do u know about the oil pump cover issues

sorry don’t know that company, wonder if there’s any reviews online

Yes your guide was super useful.
It's an 56 plate manual with 112k on the clock.

Yes know about the oil pump cover issues. Is there an easy way of checking, as the owner didn't know?

MOT is until August next year, so not sure if they'd want to put it through again.

good to hear the guide was useful to u , its not easy to check ref the oil pump cover , it’s normally from 2007 , however i’ve heard of them also going before then

only way to check is to get the cam belt covers all off , often wonder if a periscope type camera might be useful to save taking bits off, but is always essential to ensure it’s the upgraded one

as it’s a garage will they at least sort out those bushes for u , if it’s the lower ones it also needs 4 x wheel alignment done after there replaced

Hi Stuart, it's a private buy, the garage is just one near me that's been recommended. I'll see if I can get the money knocked off the asking price and go from there. It looks like a good runner, so hopefully it's worth the 1.5hr drive tomorrow morning! Wish me luck...

ur more than welcome and a great call walking away from it, alas , they can turn into money pits

have u checked out the D3 forum as members upgrade to a D4 and at least u know the members who have been on there a while look after them

it’s taken me a year to get mine up to scratch , but knew that on buying it
