I've left my 90 in a shed for 3 years.
Now I've come to sell it, it will not start due to petrol starvation.

The carb, now Ive taken it apart, has little deposits in it like grains of sand.
is there any way to disolve them?

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Am i in the wrong part of the forum?

Take the carb off.
Take the lid off the carb.
Wash the whole inside with petrol.
Make sure none of the jets or tubes is blocked.
Use an airline with a jet-gun to blast it clean.

Put it back together.
Fit it to the manifold with a new gasket.
Prime the fuel up.
See if it starts.

Why was everyone being unkind to you? What am I missing?

Well, I have been a bit abrasive in the past.
I think I'll soak in it petrol. I've already washed it.
It improved it from not starting at all to giving the odd cough.
It will not rev for love nor money.

What are those little grains?

there is a gawd after all and it looks like he drives a landy

The little grains are probably a mixture of oxides of aluminium and zinc from the casting of the carb body.

Aluminium oxide is very abrasive. Get rid of it.
